Winterton Museum - Winterton

This small museum is well worth a visit and has facinating displays on the history of farming in the area, the early inhabitants, a reconstructed Zulu beehive kraal, gallery of Bushman paintings as well as displays on the Boer War Battles of Spionkop and Vaalkrans.

Drakensberg Boys Choir - Champagne Valley

The world renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir School is situated next to the Dragon Peaks Park en route to Monks Cowl Camp.

The coir draws inspiration for its exuberant performances from the beatiful surroundings.

Every Wednesday during term, a concert is held in the school's auditorium. Reservations are essential.

Thandanani Handcraft Centre - Northern Drakensberg

The community have formed a comitee to manage the handcraft centre. The center was built by ESKOM as a community project.

The community are skilled in carving, and grasswork. Much of their work is on sale. Find us on the right hand side of the Royal Natal National Park road as you pass through Amazizi rural township.

All Out Adventures - Northern Drakensberg

Nick Greville, co-founder of Enviro Ventures is an experienced and qualified hiking guide who has been taking first-timers and experienced hikers into the "Berg for a number of years. I am registered with Tourism KZN as a mountain guide in the Champagne Castle area.

Imagine spending a night sleeping in a cave in the Little 'berg after an own-cooked meal. The afternoon would have been spent abseiling off the overhang above the cave and enjoying a swim in the pools alongside!

Everything needed to make this dream a reality is supplied - backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, cooking set, cutlery, crockery, food (three meals per day), all abseiling equipment and cost of entry permits and overnight fees into KZN Wildlife Reserve. All you need to bring along are your clothes, snacks and your own drinks.
