Eskom Visitor's CentreDrakensberg Power Station

The Eskom Visitors centre is at the Drakensberg Power Station. This entire power station is underground and is part of the Drakensberg Pumped Storage Scheme.

Educational and Recreational Tours

Excess electricity is used to pump water from KwaZulu Natal to the Free State. Water is released into the river system that feeds the Vaal River System, and the industrial Witwatersrand. Water is also run back through the turbines to generate electricity during periods of peak demand.
